I Peter - Incentives for Godly Living
This beautiful and sensitive letter carries a warm pastoral tone, and is one of the most interesting and practical epistles of the New Testament.
Woven like a thread throughout the letter is the theme of Christ's second coming, a topic which should affect the way we conduct ourselves as pilgrims on
the way through life. 1 Peter presents the sufferings and return of Christ as incentives for godly living during times of trouble.
It is a letter of hope. Written to believers who were under intense persecution, having been made scapegoats for Emperor Nero. In light of their tremendous
suffering, they are challenged to live godly lives committed to Jesus Christ. Circumstances should not affect our commitment to the Lord.
