Diamonds to Receive:
The Joy of Service

Staff and Volunteers

Hutterite Ministry

Rick Harbidge:

Being a part of the "bigger picture," which includes all of the departments of WTM brings me great joy. When we were in Saskatoon in the Fall of 2000 and heard the various reports, it was joy that I sensed to be as co-labourer with these people, each doing our own part for the same Saviour.

Beryl Harbidge:

It is a joy to know that God gives us the desires of our hearts. While I have never felt "a call" overseas, He has allowed me to be able to work alongside my husband, right here in Canada, where there is tremendous need, under the umbrella of Western Tract Mission.

Impact Canada

Peter Hiebert:

There is joy hearing of responses when people come to the Lord. I am thankful that tract members are willing to send tracts. It is a good social time with Christian friends as well. We are doing something worth while for the Lord. It is a cost efficient ministry. Tracts can be read again and passed on. We, as a group, pray for the tracts and the town we send them to.

Ruth Magnus:

The eagerness of my group to do the mailing as soon as the tracts arrive is special. One of the joys was to receive the first response just a few months after the group began.

Abe Wiebe:

The positive attitude of our group is a great joy. This is a ministry as unto the Lord. The results rest with Him. The spirit of the Mission is encouraging as we communicate. The response from the recipients of the mailings have also been encouraging.

Website Committee

Ruth Friesen:

Using my creative talent always gives me joy, but in this volunteer relationship with Western Tract Mission I get a special thrill when I see how God is working with such an assortment of ordinary individuals to accomplish His work. Much can be done in Jesus' name even if our resources seem to be but a few buns and a couple sardines.

Emory Ediger

I do not feel that I am a leader but I feel most comfortable in serving others. The Bible teaches us to serve others. I was thrilled when I was accepted as a volunteer at WTM. My 'pay' is received when I hear that someone has accepted the Lord as their Saviour as a result of WTM's ministry. Our dividends will be paid in heaven when we see these redeemed souls. They are the only 'wealth' we will be taking with us.

Scripture Signs

Lewis Warkentin - WTM Board Member:

There is joy in knowing of the good workers and volunteers at WTM. Joy in seeing new Scripture signs go up and different people asking about putting them up on their property. A great way to spread the Gospel!

Personal & General Mailing

Myrtle Bute:

Working at WTM is one of the most wonderful things that I have done. I have been blessed over and over again through correspondence with distributors all over the world who use the Personal and General Mailing Programs.

Reflections

Dori Krahn:

For me a special joy is hearing that someone was particularly blessed by something published in the Reflections. This would mean that they made the effort and took the time to write or call us.

Mary Petersen:

For me it is a joy to work for the Lord at WTM. It has been my desire for a long time to be in ministry for the Lord. Working with the Reflections gives me experience in desktop publishing which I have chosen as my career.

Vi Goosen:

I love doing this kind of work.

Arnold Stobbe - Board Member and Temporary Director:

My joy is in working in harmony with staff and volunteers. It is neat how everyone is so willing, joyfully serving Him and also to see and hear results of people getting saved and growing in their Christian walk. Joy in so very many answers to prayer every week within the Mission and of those who write in their prayer requests. PTL.

Janitorial

Wendell Klassen:

There are many joys associated with working for WTM. The biggest one is to know that I'm working for Christ and making a difference for the Lord.

Bible Correspondence - Mailbox Club

Lynne Fraser:

It is humbling to know that God can use you to make a difference in people's lives who are really hurting. Often times I respond to letters from troubled teens. When I hear back from them, that the letter(s) made a difference, I am blessed. It is so good to know that God uses the correspondence we send out.

Brenda Reimer:

I have been working at WTM for about 3 years. I do correcting for 4 courses, ages teen to adult. The joys of working at WTM are being able to have a part in bringing someone to Christ, answering questions for them, and taking the time to answer a letter. It feels good to be able to do my part in giving other people a chance to know the wonderful Saviour we adore.

Susan Buhler:

The positive responses that we receive from the students are a real blessing. The atmosphere here at WTM is so positive that it is a joy to be here.

Enrichment Courses

Peter Voth:

When a person grades lessons presented by students they are the beneficiaries as well. Going over the truths with the students is a reminder to us that we need to live by those same truths. It is only when the truths we teach are real in our own lives that we can truly explain them to others.

Vi Goosen:
It is rewarding to know that I can help others for the Lord.
