Tract Review

Knifepoint

This tract tells about an experience of a minister. One time a landlady summoned him because she was afraid that her tenant, Henry, was going to commit suicide. The pastor goes to visit Henry and finds him crazed with alcohol with a knife lying on a table. When the pastor enters he decides that he will not only kill himself but the pastor as well.

In a moment of divine inspiration the pastor asks Henry if he is ready to die and then asks if he could first pray. When he prays he commends both of their lives into God's care. After the prayer a surprising thing happens. Henry is crying and the minister is able to lead him to the Lord.

God had used the situation for good to bring another one of His children to Him. The tract goes on to explain the plan of salvation and includes a prayer for salvation at the end.

Western Tract Mission has just reprinted this tract. Obviously it is one that has been well used in the past and others have found it effective.
