Tyler Klassen
My name is Tyler. I am twenty one years old. I can walk, talk and am
living life to the fullest! These things are only as a result of God's
creative miracles.
I received the Lord Jesus as my Saviour when I was six years old. Being
saved is a miracle, and I thank God for that.
When I was eleven years old, I rode my bike through a stop sign and was
hit by an oncoming car. Within 24 hours of the accident churches of various denominations were praying for me. There were people praying for me all over
North America. The doctors did not know if I would live or die. They
expected that if I did live I would be nothing more than a human vegetable.
(God did NOT make me broccoli!)
The night of my injury, my parents were asked to sign a consent form for
surgery, because my blood pressure was dropping and my abdomen was expanding.
My parents tell of how the surgeon came and told them. "I don't know where
the blood went." He repeated this statement; and at this point my parents
said, "We believe our Lord healed him."
The surgeon then said a third time, "I don't know where the blood went."
He then added, "Well, someone must have been watching out for him."
Those praying for me stood firm
that I would not be "broccoli" and that this would all be used for God's glory.
I spent three and a half months in a coma. When I did come out of it, I
could not walk, talk or even hold my head up. Speech therapists at the
Parkridge Centre did not believe I would ever be able to talk so they had
me use an electronic speech board.
Then one day, I felt the Holy Spirit
come over me and I began to talk. The staff acknowledged that this was a
miracle because this is not how speech normally returns to a brain injured
individual.
It took two years before I could walk. Presently I am not completely healed,
but God isn't finished.
I thank God for the opportunity to volunteer at WTM and want my life to
bring glory to God.
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures
forever." - Psalms 118:29
