Salvation Story of Lynne Fraser
I took my first baby step in walking with the Lord as a young child. I
do not remember the exact date, but my mother informs me that a wonderful,
godly woman simply asked me one day, while we were at the lake, if I had
asked Jesus into my heart. Apparently I had not, so she knelt with me
right there on the sandy beach and helped me pray to invite Jesus into my heart.
I attended church and Sunday School every week all of my growing up years
and every time I did something 'bad' I would re-invite Jesus into my heart.
I guess I was not taught about confessing my sins, at least in a way that a
young child could understand.
My teenage years became ones of gradually drifting from the Lord until I
finally came to the point where I no longer believed that the Bible was the
'truth'. At the age of nineteen I met the young man who would become my
husband within eight months. He was not a believer and consequently my
spiritual life suffered even more.
We did not attend church for the next
ten years or so until our first son was about the age of five and I decided
that my little boy needed to learn about Jesus. We began attending Sunday
School, and as the Bible says, 'a little child shall lead them!' My son finally
convinced his Daddy that he had to come to Sunday School with him and that
was the beginning of my husband's walk with the Lord and my return to Him,
'the Author and Finisher of our faith!'
