Annual Meeting Highlights
Our Annual Meeting was held on March 2, 2002. Though we wished for more
to attend, and the finances look rather bleak, we recognized God's blessing
in many departmental reports.
For our devotional we listened to a tape of the testimony of Matthew, a
former Hutterite.
Our 60th Anniversary was an exciting highlight last year. We celebrated
God's faithfulness in 'Spreading the Word.'
Funds were collected at the anniversary for building improvements. These
are in progress. The walls are insulated, a meeting room created in the
basement, and some rooms on the main floor have new floor coverings and
walls painted.
A total of 4590 lessons were received in 2001. There were 182 new enrollments,
and 436 certificates were issued. We have 598 active students, and 31 made
recorded decisions for Christ.
The website averaged 653 visitors a month, and our committee is constantly
improving it. We get contacts from around the world, but we haven't promoted
it seriously yet.
Two Scripture signs were put up at Dalmeny, Saskatchewan.
Five new members were added to the Mission, three of them working in the
office, plus two tract distributors. One more Tract Club has started up.
We are so thankful for each person working with us. New members are always
welcome. 159 orders came for tracts; 4 people returned tracts with notes
saying they had accepted Christ! Two tracts were printed, 'The Truth Shall
Set You Free,' and 'What About You?'
Prayer has become a stronger focus at the Mission. We have an Annual Day of
Prayer in November, and send out a monthly Praise and Prayer Report by e-mail
to about 377 people (including some paper copies sent out with receipts and
thank you notes.)
