You enjoy watching TV? What about dramas, or skits in church? Do you enjoy
acting a part in a drama? People everywhere identify with the characters, and learn
from stories. That's why you enjoy watching and acting in a good story, and
that's why Jesus always taught using short, easy-to-understand stories.
But have you ever watched someone sharing the gospel in a one-on-one personal
way? How about leading someone to trust Christ as Saviour and Lord? Not likely.
We do have a wonderful salvation and a great Lord Jesus - whom EVERYBODY ought
to know about, but I recall as a teenager, after hearing a number of sermons
urging us to share our faith - wishing I could tag along with someone who really
knew how to do this fluently and easily. Or if only there were some plays that
might put us in the shoes of a successful tract-distributor or one who witnesses
well at a bus stop or with seatmates while traveling. Wouldn't that help you too?
So let's have a Missions Drama Fest, and invite churches and Christian schools
in our Saskatchewan Valley area to send in a drama team, to put on some lively
skits and plays on this topic!
So we are planning a Missions Drama Fest for March 14, 2003, to be held at
Neuanlage Grace Mennonite Church, south of Hague. We are inviting your church
to prepare a skit, puppet play or short drama on the topic of missions, and/or witnessing, and to bring your drama team to present the piece at the Missions
Drama Fest.
We need to hear from you SOON, and get a copy of your play so we can ensure
there will be no duplication or conflicts with our doctrinal standards. Get
your entry in soon! Plan to bring a car or a van full of family and friends.
It will be a great evening!
(Ask for the coordinator, Ruth, when you contact us).
