February and March have been busy fundraising months for us. Our two fundraisers
were very different, both in approach and in results.
Our Soup & Pie Supper, February 7, was held in the Osler Community Church.
Many faithful supporters came and donated generously at the door. They then
entered a spacious gym-sanctuary and picked up their choice of chicken noodle soup or summa borscht at the buffet,
with buns, etc.

When ready they went to
the pie table and tried to make a choice from a broad selection.

The ladies of the church ran out of soups before 8 p.m. We thank God that
we raised $2,967.33 after expenses.
Thank you to all our dear friends who came to enjoy the meal, and share
financially in the work. But a very special thanks to the ones who came after
the soup ran out!
The Drama Fest, on March 14, was held in the Neuanlage Grace Mennonite
Church. Youth groups and drama teams came together from the following churches;
Osler Mission Chapel, Osler Community Church, the Bergthaler church, and
Neuanlage Grace Mennonite. (A Puppeteer from North Battleford was ill at the
last minute and unable to come). Altogether six skits and one monologue were
performed. Almost all of them were original scripts written specifically for
this event on the theme of missions and personal witnessing. The groups did
a fine job, and we are grateful to the Youth pastors and leaders who worked
so hard to write and work with their teens to prepare them.
Ruth Friesen, the MC/hostess, used the minutes between skits, while the groups
set up for the next drama, to introduce the audience to various ministries
of our mission, and the Board members and staff who were present.
(Unfortunately, no photos were taken).
The offering was $531. Attendance was not what we hoped for, perhaps due to
insufficient publicity.
