Worthy is the Lamb

"After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, 'Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.'" (Rev. 4:1)

In the spirit, John was summoned into heaven and saw the glory of it all. John saw events from the standpoint of eternity. As John watched, he heard a great, swelling chorus, the voice of tens of thousands of angels, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!" (Rev. 5:12)

Who is worthy to open the scroll? No one but Jesus, has conquered and proved Himself worthy to unroll the scroll. On the Lamb (Jesus) were placed the wounds that had caused His death for our sins. When the scroll is opened all creation will acknowledge God and His son, Jesus

Paul writes, "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Phil. 4:9-11).

Every tongue confess, means that even those in hell must acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who have accepted Jesus as Lord will gladly confess His lordship, while those who have not accepted Jesus will be forced to confess His Lordship. Those that have scoffed at Scripture, mocked or persecuted godly people, will be made to see their wrong. All this John saw in a vision foretelling what has not happened yet, but will.

Each day, each historic event that occurs is linked to the moment John witnessed in Revelation 5. Everything is woven into an eternal plan that includes you and me. We cannot escape the eternal consequences of choices we make. When that moment comes will our hearts be filled with joy and gladness or regret?

We MUST make a choice, "TODAY!" Anyone who hears and opens their heart's door to Jesus will have fellowship with him. Jesus says, "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His Throne." (Rev. 3:21)
