The Saturday morning of February 22, 2004, we gathered in our basement Meeting
room for our Annual Meeting. We had a good devotional, sang together, heard
encouraging reports from all the departments, and had some brief elections.
Visitors from Source of Light Ministries in the USA., joined us, and had hearty
singing voices.
Highlights:
In the Correspondence Department - Lynda Neudorf's report said there
were 217 new enrolments and about 49 salvation decisions recorded.
Mailing Programs and Impact Canada - Helen Klassen gave these reports.
She added that Mr. Heppner, our Mission Rep in Manitoba represented us at the
Winnipeg Missions Fest at his own expense. We praise God because he has often
been in poor health. Recently we've received two requests for forming Tract
Clubs in the United States.
Reflections & our Web presence - Ruth Friesen reported on changes in the
newsletter committee, as Don Wilde and Dori Krahn have left, but God has
provided Anna Kroeker & Barbara Ann deHaan. Ruth is also enthused about
the potential of our web site, but needs to train others to help with that work.
Scripture Signs - Lewis Warkentin reported on signs gone out and hopes
for more orders as a result of the profile in Reflections recently.
Arnold Stobbe's Acting Director's Report - shared about the many ways he
has been promoting the mission at Bible School mission conferences, and
churches. He covered the publications of the Tract Committee, the success of
the Day of Prayer in November, and how our monthly Praise & Prayer Report (by
email and letters) goes out to over 500, and is used by various groups to
uphold us in prayer.
Our Financial Report - was the most sobering, as we have been covering
shortfalls with a bequest that is running out. However, someone pointed out
that God has always come through when it came close to the crunch. He will do
so again if we continue to pray and believe.
Elections - Archie Loewen and Lewis Warkentin were re-elected to the
Board, and Brenda Reimer elected as the Staff representative.
