Phil. 2:10-11 "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in
heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every
tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
What do we mean by worship?
Worship is intently meditating on God and His ways. It is respect, or reverence
of the inner-most spirit in deepest humility before God's awesome majesty. We
have a capacity for worship.
Worshiping God is what He created us to do
Until we learn how to worship we will never fulfill the purpose for which God
put us into this world. Christ entrusts the use of His name to those who are in
harmony with Him in His purpose. God is looking for those who will worship Him
in Spirit and truth. John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must
worship in spirit and truth."
What must we do to worship?
The Bible suggests that you control a small but important part of your life,
namely your will. To worship Christ means you must be willing to step down, get
on your knees and let Christ be in control of your life. The result will be that
we will be made worthy to hear His voice and follow Him to the glory of God the
Father. God is Love and when we hand over the control of our lives to Him, God
pours His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 5:5). In worship to
God we need to respond to God's love as stated in Mark 12:30, "And you shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your
mind, and with all your strength."
Before He returned to Heaven, Jesus committed His interests into the hands of
all those who would kneel at the cross, surrender their life to Him and learn
to worship and follow Him. Maybe you have never made that decision to have Jesus
as Saviour and Lord of your life. Then I would urge you to do so today.
Kneel at the cross. Christ will meet you there.
Come, while He waits for you. Listen to His voice,
Leave with Him your care and begin life anew.
Kneel at the cross, leave every care.
Kneel at the cross, Jesus will meet you there.
