Although the number of people were few, who came out the Friday evening of February 24, 2006 for
the Annual Membership meeting, we were blessed.
Archie Loewen, the President/Chairman of the Board opened and chaired the meeting. Joe Homontowski
led us in some singing with his rich voice and honoured us with a solo, "What Grace is This?"
A newcomer, Allen Martens, read a passage from Matthew 14 and told us a baseball story with humor
and surprises. He connected this to Peter who lost his focus when walking on water, and began to
sink. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus.
Reports were read from various departments and briefly discussed. Then a volunteer prayed for that
department. It was especially refreshing to learn of the advances and enrichment in the Mailbox
Department over the 2005 year with the coming of Joe and Penny Homontowski. They have humbly and
faithfully brought in a number of improvements.
Joe reported as well on his role as the Source of Light National Representative in the Partnership
between our two missions. There are other missions and churches across Canada ordering lesson
supplies through Joe here.
Board Elections went quickly and smoothly. Arnold Stobbe and Carolyn Loewen's terms were expired but
they were nominated again and promptly re-elected.
Having proved that Annual Business meetings do not have to take many wearying hours, we adjourned
for refreshments and visiting.
Later the Board members gathered round to settle some matters in preparation for the 65th
Anniversary Musical-Dessert Night program.
