Appreciation Tea Report
Sunday afternoon, the 30th of August, the meeting room in the basement at the Mission office was nearly full as people came to show appreciation to the volunteers who've been involved this year. Framed Scripture Signs were given as tokens of appreciation.
After Joe Homontowski sang, "The Love of God," The guest speaker, Judy McAleer, a nurse, shared her story of missionary work in the Himalayan mountains. When they were back in Saskatoon, her husband and one son were killed in an accident. But she remembered that God is good ALL the time.
Arnold Stobbe, the Director, awarded different individuals with a Scripture Sign for volunteer service, such as Wayne Senger for painting window frames around the building, and raising money for the Walkathon. Several received certificates for the monies raised at that time.
Kathleen Stratham, (not present) was recognized for 15 years service as a Corrector. Ruth Friesen was recognized for 10 years service on the web site, and for initiating a painting bee in the office over the Christmas break.
The NEW Impact Canada mailing plan was explained, and the newly published booklet, "Inner Peace Factor" introduced, (mailed to over 65,000 homes in September). Several Board members prayed for this project, dedicating the booklets to the Lord, and asking for God's blessing and eternal work in many readers, and also for the new ministry of Scripture Signs which has begun this year.
Then everyone enjoyed fellowship over refreshments.
