Music Dessert Night
with the Wegner Family
April 23 was our very successful Music/Dessert night with the talented Wegner family. Leon and Sandra Wegner have four sons and two daughters, all able to sing and play at least one musical instrument.
Rick and Beryl Harbidge, our missionaries in Alberta focusing on Ethnic ministries were with us. Rick gave a report and Beryl sang a lovely solo.
Over $4000 was raised in the special offering for Impact Canada, and more has come into the office since then.
The Wegners are away now for a year's sabbatical in eastern Canada and in Switzerland. We are glad we were able to discover them.
The framed Scripture Sign that was the door prize was won by Harold Barth.
After the program, guests were able to brouse the display and Scripture Signs including the new “Faithfulness of God” series that were especially created for the 70th anniversary calendar for 2011. Advance orders were taken and can be sent into the office until November. The more calendars we can order from the printer, the cheaper will be the cost to us. By asking $10 per calendar, we cover our costs and bring in more for our Impact Canada mailings, see page 5.
We are beginning to plan for our 70th Anniversary next year, and expect that our biggest celebration event will be tied to the Music/Dessert night of 2011. Please join us in prayer and anticipation.
As a mission we rejoice at how well our Music/Dessert nights do each year when we have a musical family minister in music.
