Bright Hope for Tomorrow
Can you imagine what it would feel like if you had the experience as friends of mine who had their identity stolen? Through identity theft, they lost their home, thriving business, financial security, material possessions, and credibility. In the end, they have been treated like criminals themselves, with no sign of the ones responsible for turning their entire lives upside down. It has been an uphill climb as they have left their community behind where they were active in their local church and respected in their community. They have attempted to literally make a fresh start in a new location, with limited resources during the lengthy aftermath of this devastation. Listening to their story and seeing them go through this process not only brings a deep sense of pain and loss but tremendous hope as they learn with teachable spirits. They have come to realize that it is not material things that determine the success of a person or accomplish-ments in life that make one valuable. These friends have had their eyes opened to truths in God's Word as they've chosen to draw closer to Jesus and learn of His very personal love for them. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity;" While they don't know what God has for their future, they are experiencing His daily strength and have hope that He does all things well, for His purpose. Do you have a bright hope for tomorrow? You don't have to be stuck in a winter of despair. Cry out to the Lord, and seek Him. He wants to be found and to deliver you - and give YOU a bright hope for tomorrow! - Beryl Harbidge |
