Mail TrayWe share a longer letter today that is hard to just 'excerpt'. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ - Thank you for your recent publication of Reflections. I was recently talking to a man who used to minister as an evangelist with tent meetings in Newfoundland. He was visiting one of the elderly saints in a fishing village in the 'outposts.' The woman that he visited was bed-ridden and could not get around to the gospel meetings. She was faithful in doing what she could for the Lord. Every day when the men went out to sea, she would send along a corked empty bottle with a gospel tract and her name and address. Several times during her remaining years she received letters from people who had “found” the bottle and read the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If this woman had not sent those bottles out to sea with those fishermen, God's message would not have been 'preached.' (Romans 10:13-15). Please be encouraged that God wants us to be faithful, and to continue to sow precious seed. My wife and I delivered several hundred invitations to a Daily Vacation Bible School and we were rejoicing that some may have shown up. I will especially pray for the 83 year old man from Shell Lake. My brother used to have a fly-in cabin half an hour north of LaRonge, Sask., on Lake ......... My brother is not saved. Please pray for him as he is 70 years old this December - time is running out for him - he needs the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour - He is so hardened to the LORD. May God continue to bless for now - God's speed! Richard & Cecile (Col. 3:16) We are greatly encouraged by such letters! If you have things you'd like to share with us, stories of people distributing tracts, or prayer requests for your unsaved loved ones, please feel free to write and let us know. We will take it to prayer in our Wednesday morning staff prayer meeting. |
