The Faithfulness of God
Since becoming a Christian at the end of 1998, at 24 years old, God has been very faithful on many accounts in my life. By God's grace I am forgiven of my sins, as God promises that He will remember my sins no more and that if I confess my sins He is faithful to forgive me of the sins I commit. As my wife and I were dating in 2000 I vowed to her that I would never go to Bible college, or enter into vocational ministry, because I didn't think I was the type of guy that would be qualified for such a thing. As a new Christian I did not yet understand the Lord's sense of humor. A month after we were married in the summer of 2002, I found myself at Bethany College in Hepburn training for full time vocational ministry. After four years of college I had no debt as a result of my years at college. The Lord proved faithful in providing for me to go to be trained to tell others of the greatness and faithfulness of God. When my wife and I started dating, she began to work at Saskatoon Youth For Christ half time, which required her to raise support. When I completed my training at Bethany I felt called to work at Youth For Christ in Saskatoon. This was all the timing of the Lord, because our first child was to be born as I was ready to begin my work in ministry. This allowed my wife to be at home with our new born baby and for me to begin working full-time at Youth For Christ. Since I was full-time I needed to raise 100% of my salary. In the 11 years that my wife and I have been raising support we have never had a short cheque with YFC. We feel incredibly blessed to receive a full paycheck every month. God has been, and continues to be faithful to our family by providing for our needs each and every month. - Kim Worthington |
