Adopt Ruth Friesen as YOUR Missionary
Ruth Marlene Friesen is an author in her own right, and our writer and web-designer. She also does the layout for the tracts and Reflections, and helps design the new Scripture Signs.
While she has taken on other clients to make ends meet, and is quite busy, she is willing to represent the mission too, and do some ministry speaking.
Ruth worked in children's ministry many years, with Pioneer Girls in London, Ontario, and with AWANA in Neuanlage, SK. She was a live-in caregiver for her parents in Hague until they died, and understands tight shoestring living.
Ruth has a lively mind and tongue, and many many interests. Her favourite speaking topics would be on prayer, missions, and serving God creatively and resourcefully, but she can adapt to many other subjects too.
Ruth has begun a small personal business, and hopes one day to be self-supporting in that way. At present neither her business or her missionary support is enough to meet her basic budget. She must try to do it all.
A few supporters use the Direct Deposit method and it is a great blessing to know that their gifts will always come in on that day of the month. Ruth highly recommends it for those who know they will regularly have that amount to give, even if it is but $25/month.
Of course, the surprise gifts of support that come out of the blue make the Christian walk for a missionary adventuresome. They stretch her faith, as she says, "For some weeks you pray your heart out for enough to pay a certain bill, and then at the last minute our hour, it seems a one-time gift appears - often from someone you hadn't heard from in quite a long time."
